London goes vegan for a month

London was recently awarded the title of most vegan friendly city in the world, this was also because of an initiative that saw many citizen go vegan for a month: Veganuary, an international campaign that consists in going vegan for the 1st month of year. Veganuary involved 228 countries and over 629,000 in its last edition.

The goal of Veganuary is to make veganism more visible and accessible to the global population. Veganuary has also gained wide support around celebrities with some of his famous ambassadors being: Queen's guitarist Brian May,Actor Joaquin Phoenix, Beatle's singer Paul McCartney, New York's Mayor Eric Adams and singer Billie Eilish.

When asked about her thoughts on this initiative, Sara Benitez, 23 year old student from seville, Spain said: "I find veganuary interesting, I don't think there's anything wrong in going vegan for a month, your body might even benefit from it, meat is not the healthiest food".

Erica Amato, 20 year old from Italy was also positive about the initiative:"I'm lactose intolerant and I'm not new to vegan cuisine, I think that veganism is the future and the world is going in that direction, I really like this initiative".
